About the excursion
A varied trip through Lesser Poland. The salt mine in Wieliczka is on the UNESCO list. Kraków was once the seat of the Polish kings, and Wawel Castle offers several tours: we visit the royal chambers and admire historic furniture, magnificent tapestries and paintings. Then we walk through the pedestrian zone to the Main Market Square with the famous Cloth Hall, the town gallery and St Mary’s Basilica, and on to the Barbican and the town gate. Free time on the main square for lunch or shopping for amber jewellery. On the way back from Kraków we pass Oświęcim, where you can visit the former Second World War concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau (museum visit if you wish). Then we cross the Beskids back to Slovakia.
