Carpathian tour with a steam train

A day trip through the magnificent Carpathian landscape. We enjoy a nostalgic ride through the Carpathian forests on a steam train, and the unspoilt nature of the Beskids even shows us rare orchids (in season). In the village of Stará Bystrica we visit the astronomical clock made up of statues of historical figures of Slovakia. After lunch at a typical Slovak restaurant (at your own expense) we take a short trip to the gondola lift; from the upper station, in fine weather, we admire the many peaks of the Malá Fatra National Park. The oldest wooden nativity scene in Terchová is a must. We continue to the regional capital Žilina and visit its historic centre, finishing with a coffee break on Mariánske Square.
