Then we drive to Srdiečko, where a modern cable car runs up to Chopok peak (2,024 m; ride individual) — in fine weather with a panoramic view over the whole of Slovakia. The national park attracts with its unique flora and fauna. Lunch at a typical restaurant with local specialities such as bryndzové halušky (at your own expense). We continue to Banská Bystrica, a famous historic mining town, and visit the sights of the old town (e.g. the leaning clock tower).
